When Rodney and Brooke Ross founded Mid State Welding LLC in Spearfish, South Dakota, they built it on one simple idea: do the work right, every time. That philosophy shows in every railing we weld, every staircase we fabricate, and every custom iron piece that leaves our shop.
Our custom railings are built to last decades — not just seasons. We work with steel, wrought iron, and tubular aluminum to create deck railings, stair railings, balcony guards, and pool surround fencing that are both structurally sound and visually striking. Our metal staircases are a specialty. We fabricate straight-run stairs, floating stairs, spiral staircases, and industrial-grade open-riser treads for residential and commercial spaces. Every staircase starts with a site measurement and ends with a precision-welded, powder-coated or paint-ready final product that fits your space perfectly.
